Wallace Falls Hike

This Sunday again for a practice hike we decided to go to Wallace Falls State Park. Its about 1 hr drive from Redmond, near Gold Bar on 2. The hike was 6 miles RT, elevation gain about 1400ft. This is a perfect place for a summer hike. There are 3 waterfalls on the way and numerous little streams flowing all along the path. The whole hike goes through evergreen forest. This was another day of so called predicted strom, but we as usual ignored the warnings and thanks to that. The trail start out somewhat flat, but later on becomes really steep.

Little Si

First hike of the season. Sunday morning we decided to go to Little Si, our first hike for the season. Its what I call a perfect 'practice hike'. (Another one being Snoqualmie Falls). Its a 2.5 mile one way moderate hike. The hike starts out very steep, then levels off for about a mile, and then another steep phase towards the end. The scenery along the way is usual, some forested area, some rocks, but as you go close to the top, there is a lookout to Mt. Si. This place was great, it a big rocks projecting out, on the side of main trail. We sat there for few minues, it was so calm and quiet, and you can look at the huge slope of Mt. Si, full of green trees. Trying to take the vastness of Mt. Si made my head spin. On the top, it was ok, there was view of Mt. Si, somewhat hidden in trees, and view of the plains below and Snoqualmie river. It was cloudy, but thankfully no rain while we were hiking. This place is also suppose to be good for rock climbing. We saw a group of climbers going up a very steep rock.
