Acadia National Park, Maine, US

This long weekend (Sep 1-2-3) took us to Acadia National Park in Maine. This is suppose to be a very beautiful place. I of course started with all apprehensions thinking that, ah, they will show natural beauty to someone from Seattle, pffff. It must be NY standard beauty. The drive was alright, 6 hrs from Boston. We reached the park around noon, enough time to see the campground and look around. I really wanted to go to the beach, afterall we have come to this place at edge of water, you got to see the beach. The beach was somewhat unremarkable though. Well, this is again coming from someone who has spend couple of years in La Jolla, and been to Hawaii, you cannot match that on east coast huh. Anyway, but sitting next to water is always relaxing. The waves here were crashing with amazing force.
After that we drove to the Cadillac mountain. Very good view from there, kind of like Mt Constitution at San Juan, WA. Very windy, I wanted to sit there some more, look at the setting sun, but time, wind and my cold did not permit that. Oh well, I am sure we will get more opty to get to such a place.
Driving back from there it was almost dark. So we quickly set up the tent and started dinner.

Next day we decided to do a short hike which turned out to be a long hike through not so great terrine.
